“It would be near-impossible to evaluate his contribution, genius and music briefly, but among the many areas where Pandit Ravi Shankar contributed significantly was in the art of presentation.
With his passing away, we have lost a musician who was iconic and ensured that Indian
music was given due respect in international circles. It is perhaps time also to examine why an iconic musician like him chose to make his home away from India. The plight of Indian musicians and the scant respect we give to arts and artistes may perhaps give us some answers.”
