She may have an image of a Hollywood diva but actress Catherine Zeta-Jones says she’s happy being a stay-at-home mom. The 40-year-old America’s Sweethearts actress who has two children Dylan, nine, and Carys, seven, with husband Michael Douglas says it was scary becoming a mother at first.

“I wasn’t the kind of girl who always wanted babies. So I didn’t know if I had it in me,” says Zeta Jones, adding that she was surprised to find that she has a motherly side to her. “I have a very motherly side to me. You learn so much from your kids every day,” she said, adding, “My priorities changed when I had children. Now, I’m very happy to do one movie a year and stay at home.”

But the Welsh actress does admit that despite the fun she has in her private life, she sometimes gets ‘down’ on herself. “I try and stay positive, being negative isn’t good for my personality. I don’t just bring myself down, I bring everyone around me down,” she added.

But, she says, at the end of the day, she’s very strong willed. “I am strong-willed, which can be annoying sometimes. And from that I think people assume I have confidence and Hollywood glamour and, when actually, in my personal life, sometimes I’m just a goofball. So I think that may be it.”
