The growing popularity of motorsport, Formula One in particular, hasn't just raised the profile of the country's F1 aspirants it's increased the demand for driver's who've toiled away for years in relative obscurity on the domestic racing circuit.

Hari Singh, five-time national
rally champion with JK Tyre rally team, and 2011 Desert Storm champ Sunny Sidhu will attest to that.

Not only are the Chandigarh duo in demand for various road shows organised by international automakers, they've now even cracked their way on to the silver screen - as the stunt team in the remake of Zanjeer, the movie that launched Amitabh Bachchan as the Angry Young Man of Indian cinema.

Singh will choreograph a car chase in the movie, to be directed by Apoorva Lakhia. He had also choreographed a car chase scene in the director's previous film, Mission Istanbul. Sidhu will perform the stunts as the double of the film's lead actor, South Indian superstar Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan Teja.

Fitting the bill
With driving skills accumulated over years in the national rallying circuit, the director felt Singh and Sidhu would be right men for the job. Lakhia added that a dearth of professional stunt drivers in the industry was another reason for opting to go with the motorsports duo.

The 1973 original heralded a new era in Indian cinema and launched Bachchan as the man who would rule the box office in the years that followed. The legendary actor will also be a part of this project, which stars current Bollywood stars like Priyanka Chopra, Arjun Rampal and Mahie Gill.

The 'bonkers' business logic of Formula 1 teams

The primary goals of any normal business are to be successful in its field; to add value to the company; and to make a profit. Other strategic goals include building a brand, becoming the market leader or expanding the business into new areas. Joe Saward writes.

F1 needs America to complete global jigsaw

If all goes to plan, this will be a big week for Formula 1 as it returns to the United States for the first time in five years. F1 has failed to break into the US market in the course of the last 30 years, having blown the foundations that were built at Watkins Glen and Long Beach in the 1970s.
