Australia's Mark Webber signed a one-year contract extension with Red Bull Racing, that will see him drive for the current constructors' champions till at least the end of the 2013 season.

Webber won last Sunday's British Grand Prix at Silverstone and had been rumored to be in
contention for the second Ferrari seat alongside Fernando Alonso. The seat is rumored to be up for grabs at the end of the season once Felipe Massa's contract with the team expires.
 
Webber has been with Red Bull Racing since the 2007 season and went two seasons without winning a race for the team until he took his maiden victory at the German Grand Prix in 2009.
 
The Aussie was in contention for the 2010 drivers' championship but fell short to teammate Sebastian Vettel at the final round of the season in Abu Dhabi.
 
In an interview with Red Bull Racing's official website www.redbullracing.com, Webber confirmed that he had in fact been in discussion with Ferrari for a possible switch to the Maranello team before deciding to stick with the Austrian team.
