Honda's new Aviator launched

Two-wheel major Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Limited (HMSI) plans to achieve 12.5 lakh sales with a growth of 17 per cent in fiscal 2009-10, a a company official said in Kochi on Friday. HMSI had sold 10.7 lakh units in the last financial year and had a market share of 14 per
cent, Hideki Sawauchi, Advisor HMSI, said.

The company was also increasing its production capacity to 15 lakh units this year end, he said, unveiling its New Aviator scooter in Kerala.

The Ex-showroom price for Aviator Standard in Kochi is Rs. 44,404 and Aviator Deluxe Rs. 49,410, he said.

The scooter will be available in five colours of New Orange Metallic (new), Pearl Heron Blue (New), Rebel Red Metallic, Pearl Black and Monsoon Gray Metallic, he said.

Powered with an 110 cc engine, the model will deliver a power of 8 bhp. The vehicle will give 1 per cent more mileage thus making it even more economical than the previous model, Raja Gopal, Regional Manager South, said.

New Aviator features the Combi-brake which makes it comfortable and the scooter adheres to the BS-III norms which will come into effect from April next year, he said.
