Mahindra & Mahindra launched on Wednesday a revamped version of its multipurpose vehicle Xylo with a new front grille and headlamps. The new Xylo, replacing the existing version, will have five variants, some priced up to R15,000 higher than their predecessor. The top end of the new
Xylo comes with voice command technology, airbags and 120 HP mHawk engine.

The top end is priced R10.3 lakh while the low end targeting commercial segment is priced R7.4 lakh.

Pitched against Toyota Innova, Xylo was launched three years ago and it clocked 90,000 units so far. Xylo holds 27% market share in the MPV segment.

Pravin Shah, chief executive, automotive division, Mahindra & Mahindra, said the new Xylo will be available across the country. The revamped version is now available in 13 states including Delhi, Maharashtra, UP, Bihar, Bengal, Rajasthan, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The company is also developing a cheaper and smaller sub-4 metre version of Xylo. The compact Xylo will come into the market during Diwali this year.
