Nominations rejected on frivolous grounds, alleges Cong

Former Faridkot MLA and state Congress general secretary Kushaldeep Singh Dhillon, also the halqa in-charge of Kotkapura, and Jaitu Congress MLA Joginder Singh on Thursday alleged that the nomination papers of eight block samiti Congress candidates had been rejected on frivolous grounds from Kotkapura block.

Moga businessman killed in Philippines

A 23-year-old businessman hailing from this district was shot dead in Manila in the Philippines on Tuesday.  Balwinder Singh, who came from Manuke Gill village, 34 km from here, had been running a finance company in Manila for the past four years.
