Communist Party of India slammed Petroleum Minister Murli Deora for avoiding the main issues involved in the gas dispute between Ambani brothers and asked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to clearly spell out the government stand on the issue.

"The party expresses serious concern at the mess created by the government regarding the KG basin gas, its supply and abnormal tax concessions given to Reliance. The PM must clarify the actions of the government," the party said.

Reliance was not honouring its commitment to supply gas to NTPC on an agreed price, the party said.
