From the day Mahendra Singh Dhoni's daredevils tied their Group B league match against England in Bangalore, India, it seems, was destined to win the World Cup, given the Indian skipper's record in the past.

England a daunting target of 339, but Andrew Strauss led his side from the front with a brilliant 158, ensuring they finished on the same score in what was the most thrilling match of the 2011 World Cup.
India then went on to clinch the biggest prize in cricket by subduing Sri Lanka by six wickets here on Saturday in the final.
Dhoni, who has won every tournament with the team he has led - India or Indian Premier League franchisee Chennai Super Kings - tied one of the games in the IPL.
It all started with the tied game against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup in South Africa in September 2007, when the 29-year-old Dhoni led the national team for the first time.
Dhoni and his youthful band of warriors tied their Group D match against arch-rivals Pakistan, level with an identical score of 141 leading to the first ever bowl-out. India qualified for the next round after winning the match.
India went on to defeat the same opponents by five runs in the final in Johannesburg, to start Dhoni's golden run as captain.
