Irrfan Khan will next appear in SRK's Billu (Barber)
Much was expected from this week’s release, Billu, since Shah Rukh Khan has produced it and also plays a longish cameo. There was Midas man
Priyadarshan at the helm too. But going by the weekend collections, the film should be an above average grosser at
best.
On Friday, Billu opened with a collection of 30 to 40 per cent for the morning shows.

Following word-of-mouth publicity and positive reviews, collections picked up. On Saturday it was between 60 and 70 per cent. Evening shows did better business. Sunday was encouraging as evening shows in many multiplexes were houseful.
The other two releases, The Stoneman Murders directed by Manish Gupta, and Jugaad directed by A Anand Kumar,
however failed to bring in the audience.

Poor response
Last week’s three releases — Anurag Kashyap’s Dev D, Madhureeta Anand’s Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye and Rajeev Kumar’s Chal Chala Chal — also didn’t make much of an impression at the ticket windows. Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye and Chal Chala Chal were poor in content and were rejected on the first day itself. Dev D has managed a decent run at a few multiplexes in the metros but business is otherwise dull.
