A 75-year-old man died after being slapped by his son over a family issue, in Mal police area, on Sunday. The police, however, registered an FIR of culpable homicide against the accused.
The deceased was i dentified as Laxman Prasad Lodhi of Mal’s Gulalkheda village.
The victim had a
spat with his younger son, Shiv Kumar, when the latter was working on his farmland on Saturday evening.
The elderly man suffered head injury and fainted after Kumar slapped him in a fit of rage.
He was later rushed to the doctor and brought back home after primary aid. His condition deteriorated later and he died on Sunday morning.
District police spokesman Alok Pathak said the victim’s elder son, Vishnu Kumar, lodged an FIR against his younger brother who was taken into custody.
The body was sent for a post-mortem examination for further investigation.
