The charge of inaction by Delhi Police leveled by the friend of the Delhi gangrape victim has created furore on the social media. Ever since the victim's friend broke his silence on Friday for the first time since the incident, the online world has not been too kind to the city police.

Some saluted the victim's friend and vented their anger on Twitter.

@akanksharma: Hats off to the #DelhiGangRape victim's friend to shrug his trauma aside come out and speak his mind openly to tell us the "inside" truth. @akanksharma: After hearing the interview of #DelhiGangRape victim's friend on ZeeNews I feel ashamed to be an Indian & a Bharat niwasi as well ; ("Another tweeted - @GuptaAnvesha: @ZeeNews.. Frustrated while watching the #DelhiGangRape victim's friend's interview. Pathetic. ashamed to be an Indian today. #Police sucks."

Another tweet that took on the police, said: "Let us take a moment & ALSO protest against those who didn't stop to give even 1 piece of clothing to them. #DelhiGangRape #JusticeForWomen"

The Delhi Police had registered a case against the news channel for airing the interview. That invited more barbs.
