Sporadic violence in Faridabad

Sporadic violence was reported from several localities in Faridabad on Monday night and Tuesday due to prolonged load shedding.

A group of residents from Sector 28, Sector 31, IP Colony, Springfield colony and Sector 30 squatted on the busy Mathura Road. The police rushed to the spot and saved the situation.

The people were protesting against the state government for poor power management and prolonged load shedding.

On Monday, people from dozens of villages in Neharpar area blocked almost all the roads leading to the city in protest against power cuts. The irate mob attacked a 66 KV sub-station at Badrolla and ransacked offices. The police took about three hours to bring the situation under control.

A mob also blocked the Sohna-Ballabgarh road near village Pawta on Monday morning, protesting against frequent load-shedding. Similarly, villagers in Bhadkal also staged a protest on Monday against erratic power and water supply.
