Denzel Washington, who has a casting vote on who wins at the Oscars, has divulged that it is actually his wife who picks the winners and not him.
The double Oscar-winner is one of the hundreds of actors who, as members of the Academy, nominate their favourite films and actors.
But
during the promotion for his upcoming film Safe House, Washington confessed that his wife of 28 years, Pauletta, is the real decision maker.
“Actually, my wife watches all of the movies,” Sky News quoted him as saying.
“You know they send you the DVDs and she watches them all,” he explained.
“So she actually does the voting, I’ll be honest with you.
“I watch some of them but she watches them all. She’s like, ‘oh no, no, no you don’t want to put that one down’.
“Actually, she really liked Drive and Drive wasn’t even nominated for best picture. That was her favourite,” he added.
