Akshay Kumar arrives with his actress wife Twinkle Khanna at the 9th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards in Bangkok

Actor Akshay Kumar, who had confessed to be super excited and waiting eagerly for the birth of his second child, has been blessed with a baby girl.

His wife Twinkle gave birth early Tuesday morning at the Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai. Akshay said, “We are blessed with a lovely baby girl

who looks just like her mother and grandmother, and I have no words to express my happiness. I would like to thank everyone for their blessings and best wishes.” When we sent Twinkle a congratulatory message, she promptly replied with a “Thank you,” so we assumed the new mommy is doing all well. A source close to the couple confirmed, “Both the mother and daughter are doing fine.” Akshay, who had to attend a promotional event for his forthcoming film Oh My God in Jaipur on Monday, got it cancelled at the last moment and flew back into Mumbai as Twinkle had to be rushed to the hospital suddenly.

The couple got married in 2001, and already have a 10-year-old son, Aarav.
