With love: Prem Chopra waves at cameras.

Just like their industry colleagues, Bollywood baddies tell us if they think films are responsible for the rape mayhem in the country

Prem Chopra
Whatever is in a film is the depiction of what’s happening in the society. It’s not that films show that people who rape have a happy ending. No, in the end, the bad guy faces his destiny and is shown in a bad light. That’s what films show and what our parents try to tell us — that if you are horrible to someone, you will have to pay for it eventually. This is message that films try to portray.

Manoj Bajpayee
It’s a bit strange that Bollywood can have any impact on rape incidents. Real life rapists are the bad guys, who find themselves facing a harrowing end. They get in the end what they deserve and films also depict that aspect. This incident has been very sad and people are angry. They don’t know who to put the blame on and that’s why Bollywood is also becoming a part of this. I hope the movement against the rapists puts pressure on the government to take some strict actions.

You have to see the number of people who watch Bollywood movies. Do all of them get involved in such cases? Is it first not the duty of the parents and the teachers in schools to give their children the right kind of education before putting the blame on films? Yes, I accept that everything has a sense of responsibility to it, but even then, films cannot be blamed for this issue.
