Parineeti to scorch the ramp at India Fashion Week

While certain sections of the media reported that actor Deepika Padukone will walk for designer Ranna Gill on day four of the fashion
week on Tuesday, she laughed off the rumours saying, “No, not at all. I am not walking the ramp for anyone at the fashion week. It was such a rumour.” While this diva won’t be adding glam, we know who will be. Fresh face Parineeti Chopra will walk alongside actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar for designer Manish Malhotra.
The designer’s collection will include pieces from his Mijwan collection created to promote the Mijwan Welfare Society run by actor Shabana Azmi for upliftment of rural women from Mijwan near Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh.“I am really happy that Farhan and Parineeti are supporting the cause. The collection won’t be a dramatic one, considering it is not couture, but a prêt event,”’ says Malhotra who will close the day tomorrow at the fashion week.
Actor Diana Penty, who made her debut on the big screen this year, will also be a part of the five-day fashion event as she will walk for designer Sakshee Pradhan tomorrow. Apart from these, actor Tannishtha Chatterjee will walk the ramp for designer Rahul Singh on Tuesday, while actor Manoj Bajpayee will walk for designer Samant Chauhan tomorrow. This, even as the debate on whether filmstars take the focus away from the clothes at fashion weeks, continues.
