Rain brings winter chill to Delhi
Chandni Chowk municipal councillor has demanded that the heritage area in Delhi should be redeveloped and licences should be issued to all traders there to increase the revenue of Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
Area councillor Suman Kumar Gupta made this demand while taking part in a debate on the MCD budget proposals for 2011-12.
Gupta said issuance of trade licences will also ensure lesser corruption. According to him, when the Delhi Master Plan 2021 was brought into force in February 2007, a period of three years was kept to make a redevelopment plan for designated “special areas.”
“It was later extended by a year, but no work has been done in this regard so far,” Gupta said.
