A daily morning Shatabdi train will connect Moga town with New Delhi, fulfilling the long pending demand of town residents. The announcement is likely be made in the coming railway budget.
Revealing this here on Thursday, Punjab Congress general secretary Rana Gurjeet Singh said railway minister Pawan Kumar Bansal had assured a delegation of Moga residents that their long-pending demand will be fulfilled soon.
Rana Gurjeet said the railway ministry was considering a proposal of a direct day train between Moga and New Delhi, besides exploring the possibility of making the Ferozepur-Delhi train via Moga.
"As of now, Ludhiana Shatabdi comes to Moga twice a week, while the new Shatabdi will run daily," Rana Gurjeet said.
