National Fertilisers Limited (NFL), leading producer of nitrogenous manure in the country, on Tuesday paid a huge share dividend to the Indian government for the last financial year.
Sham Lal Goyal, company's chairman and managing director, gave away the cheque to the union minister
of chemicals and fertilisers, MK Alagiri, in Delhi. Fertiliser secretary Sudhir Mital and top officials from the department of fertilisers and NFL were present. "NFL has made consistent profits and maintained excellent performance rating for 11 years in a row," read a press release from the company."
Between April and July, NFL has commissioned the urea capacity and energy-saving projects at Vijipur 1 and 2. The changeover of feedstock from fuel oil to gas is at advanced stage in Nangal, Panipat and Bathinda, and expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of the current financial year.
