Two ration depots sealed for pilfering wheat and kerosene oil

Food and civil supply officials of Mansa raided two ration depots on Monday and sealed them for diversion and pilferage of wheat and kerosene oil.

Officials found that 145 litres of kerosene oil and 69.9 quintal of wheat has been pilfered in the September till now from the ration depot in Joga village, run by one Harvinder Singh. The Radd village depot was found to have pilfered   28 quintals wheat and 27 litres kerosene oil.

Mansa DFSC Nirmal Singh Dhillon said, "The calculation of sale and purchase register in the depots was verified with the stock, following which two depots have been seized for pilfering wheat and kerosene meant for the poor. The accused have been handed over to the police."
