Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) chief Kuldeep Bishnoi called for a united community while addressing a congregation at Bishnoi Mandir to celebrate the 563rd birth anniversary of Guru Jambeshwar Maharaj on Wednesday.
"The Bishnoi community should be united and we should follow the tenets
propagated by guru ji. Due to friction in our community, we have scant representation in Lok Sabha and state assemblies. The 29 rules laid by guru ji should be followed in letter and spirit," he said.
State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Ram Bilas Sharma presided over the function. He and former minister Ganeshi Lal also exhorted people to follow the ideals of guru ji.
Bishnoi urged the community to resolve differences within the community and desist from going to courts.
He said: "There is no issue which cannot be resolved by us mutually here. The power rallies behind the man who has full support of his community, workers and supporters."
