A 16-player multiplayer shooter set in the "Star Wars" universe had been slated for release this spring, according to information gathered by Kotaku, supported by screenshots and video.
Think an infantry-only "Call of Duty" or "Battlefield" in space, amid all those recognizable
"Star Wars" environments with blue and red laser fire flying everywhere.
Originally scheduled for spring 2013, "Star Wars: First Assault" was viewed internally as a precursor to a fully fledged and long-awaited "Star Wars: Battlefront III."
But now that developer LucasArts is owned by Disney, it's not known how close the downloadable game is to release, or whether it has a snowball's chance on Tatooine of making it out intact.
