Two moments will never fade from the history of India-Pakistan cricket rivalry. Pakistan skipper Aamer Sohail hitting a searing square cut for four off India's Venkatesh Prasad and saying, "go fetch". Next ball, Prasad knocking Sohail's off stump, starting the slide for Pakistan who lost
by 39 runs.

The match started on a controversial note, with Aamir Sohail stepping out for the toss instead of Wasim Akram, who had been declared unfit just before the match. India got off to a confident start, with openers Navjot Singh Sidhu and Sachin Tendulkar putting on 90 runs, but the real damage was done by Ajay Jadeja, who helped India plunder 57 runs in the last four overs to amass 287.

Pakistan were 84 in the first ten overs. But with the openers gone in quick succession and Ijaz Ahmed and Inzamam-ul-Haq unable to contribute much, the Pakistan chase was tottering. Javed Miandad tried his best to recreate some of the old magic, but his 38 wasn't good enough.
