Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley and Geoffrey Rush reunite in the much-awaited final installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean films. In At World’s End, the quartet is joined by superstar Chow Yun-Fat as Captain Sao Feng, the pirate lord of Singapore.
Thanks to Jack Sparrow’s compass, Lord Cutler Beckett (Tom Hollander) has found and now taken control of the ghostly galleon, the Flying Dutchman, and its terrifying captain, Davy Jones (Bill Nighy). As the self-appointed police of the high seas, the unstoppable Dutchman, under the command of re-instated Admiral Norrington (Jack Davenport), is out to destroy each and every pirate vessel it encounters, sans mercy.
Meanwhile, Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), under the command of Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) sail to “world’s end” to defeat the Flying Dutchman and Beckett’s armada. Their quest is to gather the Nine Lords of the Brethren Court. Unfortunately, one of the lords is Jack Sprarrow, who was last seen facing the monstrous Kraken.
Their quest takes them to Singapore, where they must meet Captain Sao Feng (Chow Yun-Fat) and get his help to rescue Jack.
But it is not to be so easy, for it seems that everyone in this tenuous alliance has their own interests and agendas. Perhaps the way to defeat Beckett may lie in taking help from the capricious Sea Goddess, Calypso. But first, she must be freed from her imprisonment in human form…
And time is also running out for the intrepid adventurers, as Beckett and his fleet grow increasingly more powerful, and more unstoppable.
