Shakespeare in Love, 1998
It is a British-American romantic comedy-drama film directed by John Madden and stars actor Gwyneth Paltrow and Joseph Fiennes. It’s one of the most romantic movies in the history of love story. This movie could make anybody fall in love.
Notting Hill, 1999
I love the chemistry between actors Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant. It reminds me of those days when love was priceless.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, 1975
It’s one of the most inspirational movies and stars the famous actor, Jack Nicholson. The movie inspires you to strive for a better living. Having won so many awards, it is a must-watch.

It’s simply unbelievable to see such strong romance in a silent movie. The love, passion and composure of the lead characters could be inspirational for many.

The Bell Jar, Sylvia Plath
A book read during college days and still remains a favourite because of its powerful, almost brutal honesty and the terseness of expression which captures the inexpressible sadness of a young life, overtaken by the demons of mental illness.
The Snow Leopard, Peter Matthiessen
A masterful exploration of the bond between nature and the human spirit, the book is a detailed description of an actual journey to the Himalayas, in search of the elusive, snow leopard, but actually uncovers the writer’s true self and his oneness with the universe, based on his faith in Buddhism.
Kafka on the Shore, Haruki Murakami
A brilliant and surreal story about a runaway teenage boy, Kafka and the parallel odyssey of the aging simpleton Nakata, tracker of lost cats. This book with its fluent, addictive narrative and its quirky dramas, is mesmerising.
A Moveable Feast, Ernest Hemingway
Hemingway’s classic memoir, based on notebooks he had written as an unknown and hungry writer, living in Paris in the 1920s. The romance of the city forms a warm background to his inimitable wit and deeply, personal experiences.
Three Men in a Boat Jerome K Jerome A book read in school which still has the power to make my world light up when I am down. It is a wonderful piece of classic British humour, enduring and timeless in appeal and quality.
Listen: Sowmya Raoh, Singer
Dil Padosi Hai, Asha Bhosle, R D Burman and Gulzar
Back then, these were cassette tapes and I used to play it so much that the tape eroded and I had to buy it anew. It’s sad that they don't make albums like this one anymore.
Lag Jaa Gale, Woh Kaun Thi
This song makes me cry every time I hear it. It’s a great composition by Madan Mohan ji. And the way Lata Mangeshkar emotes in it, you actually feel that someone you love is going away from you, and you want to spend those last few moments with that person.
Badi Sooni Sooni Hai, Mili
My most favourite thing about Kishore Kumar’s singing was that he never over-emoted. His inimitable voice alone conveyed such a depth of emotions that it makes the song stay with you long after it stops playing.
How To Name It? (Instrumental)
Ilayaraja The genius of the maestro has to be heard to be believed. Again, an album that used to be played on repeat. I am not usually a fan of plain instrumental music, but this one just doesn’t let you feel the lack of lyrics and vocals.
Kal Ho Naa Ho, Kal Ho Naa Ho
This is the perfect example of ‘Simplicity Wins’ — the simple beauty of Javed Akhtar sahab’s lyrics, the soul-touching simplicity of Shankar Ehsaan Loy’s composition and the graceful voice that culminates it all so effortlessly, Sonu Nigam. I see so much of Kishoreji in his style and in this song too.

Dakshin at ITC Grand Maratha, Andheri
The menu here is an outcome of study by the team of culinary experts and chefs. Each item is cooked with its own individual style and spice that makes them truly unique.
Diva Maharashtracha, Matunga
I love this place for the ambience and Maharashtrian stroke to each and every little element. This is one of the few restaurants in Mumbai that serve food from different region and communities of Maharashtra.
Konkan café at Vivanta by Taj President, Colaba
At Konkan Café, everything is done the old fashioned way. The spices are stone ground to perk up your taste buds. Being a Goan, I have a natural affinity for coconut based spicy curries.
Oh! Calcutta, Andheri
This place serves the best traditional authentic Bengali cuisine. Their unique chutneys are a must-try. I love the variety of Indian cuisine, as each regional cuisine has unique flavours due to the combination of spices and other ingredients.
Fresh & Fast, Andheri
On days when I want to eat something healthy and light, I love eating from Fresh and Fast, they serve some excellent healthy fast food.
