Sounds of gunfire and the roar of fighter planes echoed in the air as designer Vijay Arora paid tribute to the Indian Armed Forces with his latest Fall/Winter collection on the second day of the Van Heusen India Men's Week (VHIMW) in New Delhi on Saturday. The show was divided into three
segments, which were dedicated to the Army, Navy and the Airforce. The models did a march-past on the ramp and ended the show with a salute.

“Our collection is a tribute to the armed forces who guard us against our enemies. It is aimed at real men. We don't intend to hurt anybody's sentiments with this collection. It is my own interpretation. Moreover, military prints are gaining popularity among people of all strata,” Arora said after the show.

The collection had a variety of jackets, shorts, kurtas, achkans and military style trousers and shirts.

The colour palette mostly included blues, whites, blacks and browns while the fabrics included a lot of khaki, linen, cottons, wool and silks.

To add to the authenticity, models sporting military outfits applied camouflage paint on their faces.

There were cheers and applause as the show ended with "Saare Jahan Se Achcha" playing in the background.
