After the networking website was banned in Pakistan, some users from the country formed a Facebook for the ‘faithful’. Six IT professionals from Lahore have come up with Millat Facebook (millatfacebook.com), which they say is a site “for Muslims by Muslims where sweet people of other
religions are also welcome”.

It’s backed by a public litigation firm, Judicial Activation Panel and has reportedly attracted over 8,000 members from all countries like USA, Britain, Canada and Russia.

The website is strikingly similar to Facebook in look and feel, with identical features, but has a few additional features too, like ‘Top friends’, ‘Top-rated members’ and even video chat. The only terms and conditions of using the websites are ‘you must respect humanity and the beliefs of all people and shouldn’t disrespect anyone.’
