1. Price point: Always look for the ‘Best bargain of the day’ for comparable products. If you find the prices too steep and your need is not urgent, then you can wait for the festive seasons during which good discounts are usually offered.

Features wise: Product features may vary even among seemingly identical models. Many retailers list the generic features without highlighting the differences. So this needs to be closely watched. Also features that become important post purchase like power consumption, water consumption of washing machines, minimum voltage for refrigerators, LCDs and microwaves etc. needs to be seen.
3. Product review: Online retailers usually have a ‘Product review’ section which can be very helpful to see how other buyers feel about the product.
4. Warranty is primal: Online electronics retailers in India can be classified into two broad categories — ones that sell branded products with manufacturer’s warranty and others who that sell branded / unbranded products with seller’s warranty. It is always better to go for products which carry original manufacturer’s warranty.
