Harassed after being raped by two youths, a 16-year old girl on Wednesday set herself afire in Barkheda Gird village under Bajranggarh police station in Guna district. The victim has reportedly suffered 90% burns. Police have arrested one of the accused, Sonu Sehariya, while the other is still at large.
Directorate of sports on Thursday claimed that they have saved Rs. 77 lakh in the recently held Chief Minister State Games at various places of the state. A budget of Rs. 3.22 crore was sanctioned for organising the games. The games were jointly organised by Directorate of Sports & Youth Welfare (DSYW) and MP Olympic Association (MPOA).
A collection agent was allegedly robbed of Rs. 7 lakh cash at knifepoint by three unidentified motorcycle-borne youths near Lalghati close to Koh-e-Fiza on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday. The state government has amended MP Minor Minerals Rules 1996 for ensuring environmental protection and putting an effective check on illegal transportation of minerals in the state. In a snub to the MP Housing and Infrastructure Development Board (MPHIDB), the Jabalpur bench of the high court on Tuesday stayed the execution of the board's order of March 8 by which it had threatened the petitioners with cancellation of allotment of their houses at the Riviera Town Scheme in Bhopal if they did not pay the enhanced cost of construction. The court also asked MPHIDB to explain as to how the cost of construction of houses in the residential scheme rose by about 300%.

Congress corporators allege that it was being proposed under a conspiracy to help builders to sell plots and housing units in Bhounri area, where groundwater has depleted below 500 feet.
