Brief holiday sowed the seeds of love story

The love affair of Basant and Sarita began sometime in 2010. It all started when Basant returned home to his native village Gorar for a brief holiday while undergoing training in the army. Sarita lived in the same lane, just a few yards away from his house. The couple fell in love and started meeting secretly.

Amway head seeks court's permission to visit US

Doctors call off strike

The Punjab Civil Medical Services (PCMS) Association doctors called off their two-day strike after a meeting with health minister Madan Mohan Mittal at his residence here on Monday night. According to president of the association Dr Hardeep Singh, the strike was called off in public interest after the health minister assured them that their problems would be readdressed.
