Chief Ministers of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala and key Union Ministers are likely to meet in Delhi on December 21 to mount an effective joint strategy to capture forest brigand Veerappan, Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna hinted on Wednesday.

Krishna told reporters here that he has suggested that date to the Prime Minister since all the Chief Ministers are likely to be in Delhi on that day to attend the National Development Council meeting.

"I have suggested in a letter that the Prime Minister could utilise this day to get all of us together and give a new direction (in the hunt to nab Veerappan)," he said.

Krishna said he requested inclusion of Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, Defence Minister George Fernandes and Information Technology Minister Pramod Mahajan in the proposed tripartite meeting.

The Chief Minister asserted that his government was firmly resolved to go after Veerappan to capture him. "We are going to aggressively pursue (the bandit)," he said.

On rumours that Veerappan has sent the seventh cassette, Krishna said government had not received any cassette.

He said there were lots of speculative reports that a body has been found and "more bodies are being looked at", and appealed to the media not to be led by speculative reports unless corroborated with facts.
