Fortis' management on Saturday said it has filed a case of vandalism against cardiologist Naresh Trehan, alleging that he forcibly entered the Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre from where he was removed on Friday. "Yes, we have filed a case against Trehan in Okhla police station
for what he did in the morning," said Fortis Hospitals Managing Director Shivinder Mohan Singh.

However, police said it had received no such complaint till 2.20 pm.

Trehan, who was unceremoniously removed from his adminstrative post as well as from the panel of doctors by the Fortis management on Friday, was prevented from entering the hospital premises by security guards.

He, however, managed to enter with support from relatives of patients under his care.

"My job is to take care of patients. It was the relatives of those patients on whom serious surgeries had to be done who got worried. Since early morning they have been calling up at my home," he had said earlier in the day.

Singh had earlier said the management has allowed limited entry to Trehan to treat patients already registered under his care, but had withdrawn his rights to perform surgeries.

Fortis Healthcare announced on Friday that Naresh Trehan has relinquished office as Executive Director of EHIRC to pursue his Medicity project in Gurgaon (Haryana).
