With differences between BJP chief Rajnath Singh and general secretary Arun Jaitley apparently continuing, the RSS has now stepped in to ease the situation which has come in the midst of hectic preparations for Lok Sabha polls. Efforts are being made at the party level also to find a way
out, BJP sources said. RSS general secretary Suresh Soni called up Jaitley on Saturday night to find a solution to the stand-off, the sources said.

Jaitley has declined to attend any of the Central Election Committee meetings till the appointment of Sudhanshu Mittal, a businessman, as co-convener of Northeast Affairs, is revoked. All eyes are on the CEC meeting to be held tomorrow as the party top brass is trying hard to convince Jaitley to attend the meet.

The refrain of the party leadership to Jaitley is that complaints, if any, can be sorted out in the post-poll scenario and any stand-off now could be detrimental to the party's Lok Sabha campaign.
