Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday informed the legislative assembly in Jammu that a suicide attack by terrorists on a camp of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on the outskirts of Srinagar left five troopers and two guerrillas dead.

Omar Abdullah,
who also holds the home portfolio, in a statement on the floor of the house, said: "Fidayeens (suicide attackers) attacked the CRPF attachment at Bemina at 10.45am, and five CRPF jawans (troopers) were killed. Four or five troopers sustained injuries, along with three civilians."
