Actor Ram Kapoor’s weight might be a point of discussion among his fans, but his wife, actor Gautami Kapoor has stopped discussing it with him.

“I used to initially tell him a lot about losing weight, but not now. If someone wants to change something, it has to come from within them. So I don’t nag him anymore,” says Gautami, who is currently seen playing the role of Sneha Rishi Mathur in a daily soap.

On the brighter side, Gautami says that people have started connecting with Ram because of his family man image. “There are friends of mine who call me up and tell me that their husbands can relate to Ram because of his paunch. I guess in a way, Ram’s physique complements the roles that he plays on-screen,” says Gautami, who has worked with Ram in shows such as Ghar Ek Mandir and Kehta Hai Dil.

Though tremors were felt across Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Delhi, J&K bore the brunt of the quake. “I felt those tremors in Srinagar. Strange thing was that I heard the rumble before the house started to shake,” J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah wrote on micro-blogging site Twitter.

In Khawara, 250 km from Jammu city, a man died after being hit by a falling boulder, said an official.

Five others were hit by falling stones in Ghata and Udrana on the outskirts of Bhaderwah town. Around 40 school children were in injured in Doda district as school buildings cracked and caved in.

The Indian Air Force carried out sortie to airlift a six-year-old girl who was trapped inside debris of collapsed building in Kishtwar and shift her to a hospital in Jammu.

Elsewhere in the state, many houses were damaged and a portion of Bhaderwah-Chinta road, 200-km from Jammu, caved in.

While no life or property was damaged in Punjab, in parts of Himachal, buildings developed deep cracks.
