Over 9,64,000 tonnes of foodgrains have been dispatched to the drought-affected states uptil June 14 against the target of 21,18,000 tonnes for the entire month.
This was disclosed during the meeting of the crisis management group headed by the drought relief commissioner here.
The meeting also decided to keep a close watch on the movement of foodgrains so that the target for the current month could be achieved, an official release said.
During the week, the Railways transported 588 wagons of water to Rajasthan and 210 wagons to Gujarat, it said, adding, about 40 wagons of fodder were transported to Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh during the same period.
The severly afffected states include Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa and Tamil Nadu.
