Disappointed over the Indian cricket team's run of embarassing defeats on the ongoing tour of New Zealand, Sports Minister Vikram Verma on Monday called for a "review" of the poor performance by the players.
size="2">"Cricket is a game of uncertainties, but there is a need to find out why all batsmen failed in New Zealand," the minister told reporters here.

The Indians were humiliated 0-2 in the Test series and have lost the first four one-dayers of the seven-match series in what has turned out to be disastrous tour of New Zealand.

Verma also said that there was no possibility of an early resumption of cricketing ties with Pakistan and India will consider reviewing their stand only after the neighbour stopped sponsoring cross-border terrorism.

"There is no question of India playing cricket matches with Pakistan as long as they continue to sponsor cross-border terrorism," he said.

He maintained that India can play against Pakistan at third country venues in tournaments organised by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
