Mohammed Asif, with an action similar to Shoaib Akthar, first made his debut against Australia at Sydney in January 2005. Although he did not impress much and went wicketless for the whole match, Pakistan team kept him in their ranks.
He took ten wickets in a practice match against England which led Bob Woolmer, to call Asif the most improved player around the national squad.
His ODI debut too was impressive - dismissing Marcus Trescothick with his third ball; he ended with 2 for 14 off seven incisive overs.
His strength lies in generating a lot of pace. Asif is a talent to be watched-out for in the future.
