Noted litterateur Medini Mohan Choudhury breathed his last at his Chandmari residence here on Thursday.
Choudhury, 74, who died of a heart attack, is survived by his wife, four sons and three daughters.
Born in Gourisagar in Kamrup district, Choudhury has several works to his
credit.
He won the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1999.
Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and several other noted personalities have expressed grief at the death of Choudhury.
In a condolence message, the Chief Minister said in the death of Choudhury the state had lost a towering figure in field of art and culture.
