Pawar accuses NDA Govt of failing to protect nation's security

Lashing out at the NDA government at the Centre, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar has said it had "failed to guard the country's security."

Addressing an election meeting at Alot in Ratlam district, Pawar also launched an attack on the Digvijay Singh
government in the state, saying it had "failed on all fronts and pushed the state into backwardness".

Similarly, the Vajpayee government at Centre failed to curb terrorism and strengthen security, he claimed.

Pawar said he had backed Chief Minister Digvijay Singh in the last elections as the Congress manifesto had promised development of the state and welfare of farmers and women, but he had failed to fulfil his promises.

Bad roads, power crisis and water shortages are among the problems faced by the people of Madhya Pradesh, he said.
