Claiming that pro-Congress wave was sweeping Andhra Pradesh, former Congress Legislature Party (CLP) Leader Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy today said the ruling TDP might not even be identified as a strong opposition after the forthcoming elections. Reddy, who was here as part of his `Jaitra
Yatra' in coastal Andhra, told reporters that his yatra received tremendous support from the people.

Alleging that the NDA and TDP have their `own hidden agendas which would be implemented after the polls', he said the two were making `false' promises to `misguide' people.

"In Andhra Pradesh, the Chief Minister is ready with the proposal to increase the power tariff as part of his assurance to the World Bank", Reddy said.

Ridiculing the `India Shining' campaign of BJP leaders, Reddy said the foreign exchange reserves was growing in the face of ever-widening foreign trade deficit year after year.

The annual growth rate in employment in the last six years has been 1.7 per cent as against 2.1 per cent in the previous decade and particularly for women, it has come down from 0.9 per cent to 0.3 per cent, he claimed.

Reddy said even the economic growth rate under NDA fell to 5.5 per cent.
