MUNICIPAL CHIEF Ram Bodh Maurya has called up on traders of Aminabad to paint the market in a single colour to add to its beauty. The suggestion came during the interactive session between traders of Aminabad and municipal chief on Tuesday evening. It may be recalled that the Lucknow Municipal Corporation has decided to develop Aminabad market as a model market of the city.

Maurya assured traders of all-out support in developing it as a model market, saying that he would soon be calling representatives of the squatters to start a composite dialogue to free the market of encroachments.

Maurya also promised to set up an office in Aminabad for quick redressal of their problems and assured the traders that the Aminabad  park, encroached by a specific community, would soon be made encroachment free.

The municipal commissioner said he was hopeful of solving the problems of squatters and traders. He said, “Somehow, I feel, I can solve the problem of encroachments on the roads of Aminabad, someone will have to initiate a process of improving the market or else the historical market would not survive for long.”

Traders demanded installation of loudspeakers inside the underground parking of Aminabad, and Maurya accepted the suggestion.

About roadside vendors, Maurya said, “They earn their livelihood setting shop on roads. You can’t throw them away, but you can certainly discipline them and put them at a place where the traffic is not affected,” said the municipal chief.

Maurya said, “Aminabad deserves  a good parking system, encroachment-free roads and smooth flow of traffic to boost business.”
