The veteran CPI-M leader Jyoti Basu hailed the Left Front's return to power in Tripura with two-thirds majority and said the win had increased the responsibilites of the coalition towards the people.
"There is no scope for complacency. The win had increased the responsibilties of the front
government there all the more. And it should implement the pledges given to the people during election," Basu told a front rally here.
The former chief minsister said that the win, which came despite threats of extremism in the state, reflected mass consciousness and endorsement of the LF government's performance.
He said that the people of the state had rejected the 'unscrupulous' alliance between the Congress and the "extremist backed" INPT.
