Congress and PDP today reached a "consensus" on the Common Minimum Programme which will guide a coalition government between the two parties in Jammu and Kashmir, senior Congress leader Arjun Singh said. Meanwhile, PDP sources spoke in similar vein saying that only some issues are to be
sorted out on CMP.

They said there has been agreement in principle of a rotational chief minister of a coalition government with Congress in Jammu and Kashmir, a proposal rejected by PDP earlier.

Senior party leaders, Ambika Soni, Ahmed Patel, Manmohan Singh, R K Dhawan and Ghulam Nabi Azad were present at the meeting.

A draft Common Minimum Programme, prepared during a meeting between Sayeed and senior Congress leaders last night, was submitted to Gandhi today. She endorsed it without any change, Singh added.
