India's Mohammed Imran crashed out of the taekwondo competition losing his third round match against Al Asmar Ali of Jordan in the men's 62kg bantam weight category in the Asian Games here today.

Imran, who won the first two rounds earlier convincingly against his Mangolian and Bhutanese opponents respectively, fought valiantly before going down in the next round.

The Jordanian took the first bout at 7-3 but Imran fought his way back to claim the second at 7-5. However, in the decider the Jordanian showed accuracy and consistency to win it 5-1.

In the women section (minus 55 kg), India's Sagolsem Nanao failed to cross the first round going down tamely to Nepal's Magar Renuka 2-9.

It was also a disappointing day in karate-do for India as Damang Syngkon was outplayed 3-9 by Korea's Seong Hun Jeong.
