Four security personnel were killed by militants in separate attacks since last night, police sources said today. Two CRPF personnel were killed in Karan Nagar area of the city this afternoon when militants fired on a patrolling party with pistols from close range, they
said.

A person, who claimed to be the spokesman of pro-Pakistan militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad, called a local news agency and claimed responsibility for the attack.

A BSF jawan was killed by ultras in Rajouri Kadal area, police said. Jaish claimed responsibilty for the attack.

In another attack, militants shot and killed police constable Abdul Rashid at Soura today, police sources said adding he was also on patrol duty. 

Eight ultras killed in Jammu

Eight militants were among 11 people killed in separate incidents in Jammu division where security forces foiled an infiltration bid since last evening.

Army and BSF jointly gunned down four ultras in an encounter in Saldhar-Mahore area in Udhampur district, official sources said here.

Four AK-56 rifles with eight magzines and 120 rounds, four hand grenades and some Indian currency were recovered from the slain militants.

Security forces foiled an infiltration bid killing two militants in Sunderbani area in Rajouri district, the sources said adding some arms and ammunition were recovered from the scene.

The sources said two militants and two BSF head constables were killed in a gunfight in Rajouri district. Two AK-47 rifles, four grenades, a radio set and Rs. One lakh in Indian currency were recovered from the scene.

Militants barged into the house of one Ghulam Nabi in Mahore area in Udhampur district and shot him dead, the sources said.

Nabi's brother Ghulam Bhatt (advocate) contested the just-concluded assembly elections as Congress candidate from Gool-Gulabgarh constituency.
