Police used mild force to disperse a mob in Rambagh area of Maninagar constituency in Ahmedabad that was protesting against exclusion of their names in the voter list for today's assembly poll. According to reports, police used force to disperse the crowd that had gathered in front of BJP
office in the area and shouted slogans against the Election Commission.

They alleged that names of a large number of voters in Maninagar, from where caretaker Chief Minister Narendra Modi is contesting election, were missing.

Gurucharan Singh, Chief Electoral Officer told PTI that polling in the state was peaceful and confirmed that a complaint of missing names was reported from some areas, including Rambagh in Maninagar.

A report from Vadodara said in Ladharam High School polling booth, some miscreants pelted stones in an attempt to allegedly prevent the miniority community from casting their votes. Timely intervention by police brought the situation under control.

Polling was "smooth and peaceful" in the area, police said.
