The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Thursday credited the ideology of Hindutva and the role of saffron outfits with the BJP's success in elections to three large state assemblies. In Madhya Pradesh, it was a "direct fight" between Congress Chief Minister Digvijay Singh and the
RSS's ideology of Hindutva, said RSS spokesman Ram Madhav in New Delhi.

And while the "victories" in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh could be attributed to the party leadership, there was a definite contribution from Sangh parivar, Madhav added.

"We see a lot of change in the organisational structure. The cadres were working together. This is a good situation," Madhav said.

Madhav refused to predict early Lok Sabha polls, but conceded that the situation favoured the BJP.

"It is for BJP to decide. We have no opinion. But the present situation is favourable to the BJP," he said.
