Incessant rains have affected normal life in Guwahati city with most of the areas remaining under water.
According to official sources, the rain water inundated main thoroughfares of the city affecting traffic movement since Monday night.
The sources said school and college
attendance was affected as rain water submerged many houses in the outskirts of the city.
Normal life was disrupted in Jyotinagar, Bamunimaidan, Chandmari, Zoo Road and Silpukhur areas of the city as the areas were submerged.
Movement of city buses was also disrupted as commuters had to wade through waist-deep water in many areas.
